Excavator Cleaning Guide

Excavators have become an essential piece of equipment in construction machinery, easing many tasks that humans cannot perform. In daily construction, they are typically used for tasks such as road construction, excavation, and sewer digging.

After an excavator is finished operating, the tracks, casing, air filter, bucket, and other parts must be cleaned. This cleaning is crucial to ensuring smooth future construction operations; otherwise, the excavator may malfunction.

Step 1: Diesel Oil Softens Dirt

Pour diesel into a spray bottle and spray it onto the grease. Wait 10 to 30 minutes, then scrape and clean again. This time, use steel wool to vigorously scrape away dirt; paint will not be removed.

Step 2: Soften with Heavy Oil Cleaner

After using up the diesel, add heavy oil cleaner and spray. Here are a few points to keep in mind: Heavy oil cleaner has strong degreasing capabilities. Before use, spray a small amount onto the paint for a so-called skin test. Some machines with poorly finished paint or poorly treated paint can cause the paint to peel and turn white after spraying. Heavy oil cleaner is highly corrosive and can corrode skin and nails, causing significant pain and itching. Wear rubber gloves and, if possible, glasses, or purchase a hand-safe heavy oil cleaner.

Step 3: Soften and Clean Again

After spraying the diesel and heavy oil cleaner, the butter will soften. Repeat the above steps and scrape the dirt again. Some dirt may be difficult to scrape off. In this case, use hand soap, which is specifically designed to remove grease. Combined with steel wool, this can easily remove stubborn stains.

Step 4: Wipe Remaining Surface Stains

When the grease is mostly removed, there will still be a lot of hand-stained oil on the paint. Then, mix laundry detergent with water and wipe the paint again with the detergent solution.

Step 5: Rinse with a high-pressure water jet.

Rinse with a high-pressure water jet to achieve a near-clean finish. If you don't have a high-pressure water jet, rinse slowly with clean water for a thorough clean. If it's still not clean, repeat the above steps.

The use of excavators has greatly improved the efficiency of industrial construction. Keeping the excavator clean and maintaining key operating parts daily will extend its lifespan. I believe you've gained some understanding of this issue.
